After resurfacing in January of this year, Matthew Perry’s reappearance sparked increased alarm among admirers.
Late last year, the Friends star went on a large-scale tour to promote his new memoir, but he then vanished off the radar.
Given that the 53-year-old has a lengthy history of drug and alcohol abuse, this alone was enough to worry several admirers, and his ragged, unkempt appearance did not help.
According to the Spanish tabloid Marca, photographers captured Perry looking bloated and red-faced. Meanwhile, Page Six said that the actor appeared fatigued when he went outside his Hidden Hills house in Los Angeles to go to Starbucks.
The Massachusetts-born musician was photographed for the first time in weeks, clad in a gray Henley shirt and trousers and sporting a scruffy beard.
Perry made news throughout the world following the November 2022 release of his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, owing to the open style of his writing and several contentious beliefs he stated inside the book’s pages.
Perry, who rose to stardom as Chandler Bing on Friends, detailed his colon bursting owing to narcotic addiction, among other things. His family was told at the time that he had a 2% chance of survival, and he spent two weeks in a coma and five months in the hospital recovering.
Neglected, with many extra pounds, smoking cigarette after cigarette. The latest pictures of the great actor have fans on edge. He says he’s recovered, but he looks worse than ever: Check the comments 👇👇👇Posted by Stuff on Saturday, April 1, 2023
Perry told People in October, “I’m pretty healthy now.” I need to stop going to the gym because I don’t want to be able to exclusively play superheroes. But no, I’m in good health right now.”
“It’s important, but losing your sobriety doesn’t mean you lose all that time and education,” he continued. The only thing that changes is your sober date. You remember all you knew before, as long as you were able to battle your way back without dying.”
Perry was also chastised for remarks regarding Keanu Reeves in his biography. The comedian and actor wrote: “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”
Perry subsequently said, in response to the death of Saturday Night Live actor Chris Farley, “I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out.” Keanu Reeves is amongst us.”
Perry later faced blowback for his remarks and was obliged to issue an official apology. According to the actor, he was “actually a big fan of Keanu” and “just chose a random name” to serve as a joke. “My mistake,” he explained. “Please accept my apologies. Instead, I should have used my own name.”
According to police, Matthew Perry was discovered deceased in his Los Angeles home on Saturday. He was 54 years old at the time. No narcotics were discovered at the site, according to sources.
His mother, Suzanne, and her spouse, broadcaster Keith Morrison, came later but made no remark.
This is devastating news, and we express our condolences to everyone who is mourning the actor. Share this with others so that they, too, may lament this loss.
