People were understandably concerned when word of actor Jeremy Renner’s snow plow mishap broke. The actor’s situation was grave for a time, but it appears he is now recuperating from the trauma.
This week, the actor made his first red carpet debut, and he was accompanied by a very special plus one.
Jeremy Renner established a successful career in Hollywood. The actor’s most notable role was as Hawkeye in the Avengers franchise. In real life, the actor took on the job literally, transforming himself into a superhero who saved his nephew’s life.
According to a redacted Washoe County Sheriff’s Office incident report, he towed his nephew Alexander Fries’ vehicle after it became stuck in the snow. The snow plow began to move during the procedure, and the actor decided to interfere to protect his nephew.
According to the report, the snowcat, a PistenBully snow groomer, began “sliding sideways” and then “began rolling down the hill.” When the actor leaped out of the machine, he saw his nephew was in its path.
“Once he was off the PistenBully, he realized it was heading directly toward (his nephew),” according to the report. “He feared the PistenBully was going to hit (his nephew), so he decided to attempt to stop or divert the PistenBully.”
The actor opted to rush into the cab of the car to stop it on the spur of the moment, but was “immediately pulled under the left side track.”
The collision severely damaged him. Following the mishap, the actor was sent to the hospital. In a recent interview, he admitted to breaking “35 or so” bones.
“We kept finding them as we went along.” “It went from critical order to priority of what I’m going to die from or not,” Renner explained regarding how physicians dealt with his shattered bones. “And then six weeks later, I’m finding another break and another break and another break.”
Despite the severity of the collision, he claimed, “it just missed every vertebra, didn’t hit any organs, didn’t hit my brain, didn’t swell, nothing like that.” “My eye did pop out, which is strange,” Renner said. “However, I was fortunate in that none of my organs were damaged.” It punctured my liver, but it wasn’t harmful.”
While the actor admitted that he appeared healthy and cheerful, he also revealed that he was in a lot of agony, stating, “I promise you I’m in a ton of pain.”
But the actor is doing far better than he used to. Rennervations, his latest documentary series, premiered on Tuesday. The actor arrived on the red carpet wearing a traditional navy blue suit and black sunglasses. He walked with the assistance of a cane.
And he clasped hands with his plus one for the premiere, his daughter Ava. As they walked along the red carpet, both father and daughter smiled for the cameras.
Renner made his first red carpet appearance since his accident and subsequent hospitalization on January 1, 2023.
In subsequent interviews, the actor has stated that he feels fortunate to be alive and that his situation might have been lot worse.
