Unfortunately, as we’ve seen time and again, her celebrity and riches were eventually her undoing. Her daughter, Dannielynn, is carrying on her mother’s memories and legacy.

Vickie Lynn Hogan, Anna Nicole Smith’s mother, was born in 1967. She grew up in Houston, Texas, and was mostly nurtured by her mother and aunt. Her father allegedly decided to leave when Anna was still a newborn.

Friends have spoken of Anna’s rough childhood, characterizing it as extremely challenging. Virgie, her mother, was strict.

“Vickie’s childhood was difficult. “[Her mother] was very… forthright and very strict,” ABC News’ longtime friend Jo McLemore said.

Anna dropped out of high school and fell in love with 16-year-old Billy Smith, another dropout. They married fast, and Anna had her first child not long after. Daniel, her son, was born when Anna was just 18 years old.

Unfortunately, Billy’s marriage did not last long. Anna Nicole became a single mother raising a boy despite having no schooling or employment. She eventually became a bar dancer. Something led to another, and the young, blond beauty from Houston unexpectedly gained the attention of the famous Playboy Magazine.

Anna Nicole rose to prominence in the modeling profession after multiple photo shootings with Playboy. William Morris, one of the most prestigious talent agencies in the United States, signed her.

Following that, modeling opportunities came in, and Anna Nicole appeared in commercials all over the world. She made news when she appeared in underwear for the Swedish retailer H&M. In fact, that particular campaign created quite a stir.

Nicole Smith was considered as a possible traffic danger because drivers just lost attention when they saw her images on billboards near highways.

Her public association with petroleum mogul J. Howard Marshall was the catalyst for her demise. The 63-year age difference between Anna and her elderly husband raised many questions; many people assumed Anna was only interested in Marshall because of his wealth.

The pair married in 1994, but Marshall got ill barely six months later. He passed away in 1995, at the age of 90. Anna was devastated by her loss.

“It was really, really hard on me after my husband died,” Smith said “20/20” in 2000.

“He knew me when I was nobody, and that’s what people don’t get, and I don’t want to be labeled a gold digger because I’m not.” I could have married him a week or two weeks after we met. I could have married him years ago, but I didn’t. No, I didn’t. I went out and built a name for myself.”

Anna spent a lot of time in court in the years that followed. She argued with Marshall’s relatives over the will of her husband. In 2006, the case reached the United States Supreme Court.

Anna Nicole died of an overdose in 2007, but she had just given birth to her daughter Dannielynn a few months prior. Anna announced her pregnancy in a video on her website, and Dannielynn was born in New Providence, Bahamas.

Several men claimed to be the girl’s father at first, and a judge finally ordered a paternity test, which confirmed that Anna Nicole’s boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, was really Dannielynn’s father.

Larry told Us Weekly that Dannielynn wants to “be a YouTuber and make videos.” “That’s a lot of work, and you’re only 11 years old,” he has informed her. If you want to do it when you’re older, go ahead, but for now, let’s sell some Girl Scout cookies.”

Dannielynn has also expressed interest in following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming an actor herself.

“It’s really cool to, like, act as a character and not yourself,” she stated in an interview. It’s like playing a different character. It’s entertaining.” She has been on various series alongside her father, including “Life After Anna,” “Wife Swap,” and “The Millionaire Matchmaker.”

And it’s apparent that Anna Nicole’s daughter thinks about her mother on a regular basis.

Dannielynn paid tribute to her late mother by donning a pink dress identical to the one Anna wore in 2004 for the Kentucky Derby last year.
