Those who know Helen Mirren know that she is a jack of all crafts, having acted, written, and modeled during the course of her decades-long career.
The 78-year-old actress’ modeling jobs have expanded in recent years, and her presence at this year’s Paris Fashion Week was no exception.
Fans even flocked to social media to praise her appearance, from her makeup to her wild hair!
Mirren, who was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003, is a well-known actress who made her debut in 1980 opposite Bob Hoskins in The Long Good Friday.
Mirren later met Taylor Hackford, the director of White Nights, in which she co-starred with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, and Isabella Rossellini. Since 1997, the pair has been together.
Helen Mirren discusses aging.
Mirren, who has been performing for over 60 years, has regularly spoken out against ageist beauty standards and was unimpressed when Esquire voted her the “Sexiest Woman Alive.”
“I dislike the term sexual. There are some who are sexual and those who are not. But there has to be another term for it. “‘Sexual’ is so constricting,” she explained. “Being powerful is so much more interesting than being beautiful.”
Mirren donned a bright pink maxi dress with silver sequins that tightened at the waist to the Ora! Film Festival in Italy in early June, and she looked stunning. She completed the ensemble with open-toed silver flats and a matching pink hair band to keep her long silvery-white hair out of her face.
“You’re not supposed to have longer hair after a certain age,” Mirren noted on the British breakfast TV show Lorraine of her roles in Shazam! and 1923.
“But during Covid, I started growing my hair, and I hadn’t actually had long hair since I was in my 20s,” she explained. And it just grew and grew and grew till I couldn’t be bothered to trim it. I said to myself, “You know what, it’s pretty cool; I think I’ll stick with it for a while.” It will ultimately fall off. But I’m liking it because it’s pretty radical.”
