Alfonso and Angela Ribeiro have shared updates on their daughter Ava Sue’s health on social media.
The kid apparently fell off her sit-down scooter the day before her fourth birthday and had emergency surgery on Friday, May 12, to eliminate any potential scarring.
Alfonso praised the medical personnel at Kare MD Skin Health and expressed his admiration for Ava’s fortitude while posting photos of her injuries, which included significant bruising and major burns on her right elbow, shoulder, and around her right eye.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor stated in an Instagram post: “Not the kind of day you want on the day before turning four.” Just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to [Kare MD Skin Health] for the emergency service and procedure that helped reduce the likelihood of [scarring]. “I’m so proud of how brave my baby girl was during the surgery.”
Meanwhile, Ava’s mother, Angela, went into additional detail about the circumstances leading up to her daughter’s tragedy, saying that she had a feeling that morning that Ava would be in danger.
She described it as “a vision/motherly intuition” in her writing:
“I told the family, kids, sitter, and friends who were helping get ready for Ava’s birthday party that ‘we are not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could potentially end up in the ER.'” I literally made everyone look at me when I shouted these words.”
Nonetheless, Angela’s warnings were clearly not taken seriously, as Ava fell from her scooter immediately after she issued her warning.

After Ava was injured, her parents hurried her to visit Dr. Raffy at Kare MD Skin Health, despite the fact that it was after hours.
They believed Dr. Raffy might help lessen the risk of Ava developing scarring.
“Not a fun way to spend your last day as a 3-year old, but she was a trooper,” she said.
“Giving this sweet girl some extra cuddles tonight.”
On May 12, Ava’s coworkers at Kare MD Skin Health honored her birthday by posting a message on their own Instagram account.
“Thank you for your very nice remarks, [Alfonso]. We are extremely delighted to care for your darling princess Ava. The caption said, “Best wishes for a speedy recovery.”
I believe we can all agree that every time one of our children is injured, it is scary. I’m happy to hear Alfonso and Angela’s kid is doing well.
