However, she has received criticism for a recent social media post she made while visiting Greenland, which many have deemed “tone-deaf.”
The 82-year-old earned a lot of good attention earlier this year when she posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in May, but her most recent Instagram photo hasn’t gotten the same type of response.
On Tuesday, August 29, Stewart shared a photo from her voyage that included a visit to Greenland’s east coast. The photograph, which is one of several, shows the television personality and entrepreneur drinking a cocktail and is captioned:
“Swan Hellenic Cruises’ first Zodiac trip comes to a conclusion as we approach a magnificent fjord on Greenland’s east coast. In reality, we were only able to catch the tip of the iceberg with our drinks tonight.
Even while Stewart most likely intended her tweet to be inoffensive, it rapidly sparked outrage among fans who believed it was improper for her to use the “small iceberg” as the emblem for her drink.
Many people quickly chastised Stewart for bringing up only the tip of the iceberg in her comments section about the “ice caps melting”.
One Instagram user said, “Martha, the ice caps are melting. Do not put them in your drink.
“Generally, I love Martha and her excesses because she’s all about beautiful homes, gardens, and food, but it’s a bit tone deaf for wealthy white people to drink their iceberg cocktails while the planet is burning,” another person commented.
Thus, wealthy go vacations to melting icebergs, scoop them up, and use them to keep their drinks cool as the climate warms due to the wealth of a few thousand individuals. That statement has the feel of one from a dystopian novel. “Can’t make this shit up, haha,” said a third.
“Even with global warming and ice caps melting, do we still need glacier ice for cocktails?” Discuss tone definitions. I’ve been a devotee for years, but recently, when I’m having difficulties purchasing groceries, I’ve seen enough caviar to say I’m done,” a fourth individual wrote.
Stewart made history in May when she posed for Sports Illustrated’s cover wearing provocative swimsuits. The 81-year-old also revealed the severe health routine she had followed previously.
Stewart told Today, “I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months.”
“It was fantastic that I went to Pilates every other day, and I still do because it’s so nice. In any event, I live a clean lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, frequent exercise, proper skincare, and other behaviors.
Stewart acknowledged the audience’s response to the “authentic” cover during her keynote talk at the Las Vegas event.
Stewart said, “the response was really encouraging because it gave women of all ages the confidence to believe that they could succeed too.”
