Everyone has a unique story about how they met, but none is more unique than the story of young Alyssa and Max. The adolescent girl had no idea she’d meet someone online, let alone what happened over the next two weeks.

Alyssa Jane, 19, decided to test out the world of online dating when she was 25 weeks pregnant. She met Max on Tinder and the two hit it off right away. Max was a laid-back 25-year-old when the sparks flared.

“I didn’t want to lead anyone on, so I was being open and honest,” she says of her decision to reveal her pregnancy early on. “I wanted them to know what they were getting into right off the bat,” she told me. “Normally I wouldn’t swipe right on a pregnant girl,” Max explained, “but there was just something about her.”

The first date went well, and they were quickly making arrangements for the following one. Max had to leave town after their third date, so they agreed that when he returned, Alyssa would pick him up from the airport and they would have their fourth date.

That’s when things got a bit out of hand. Alyssa went to the doctor before their fourth date and discovered that her water had burst and she was in labor. The adolescent made some difficult choices.

She told me that she texted Max. “I texted him and said I’m so sorry you’re going to have to find your own way home, I am stuck at the hospital, my waters have broken and he instantly said ok the second I get home I’m going to unpack and I’m going to come visit you.”

She then described what occurred next. Max stayed on her side the entire time! She went on to say, “My mum happened to be away on holiday and so Max continued stay with me for the entire week that I had contractions and every time I thought I was in labor he would bring me into the hospital and drive me back home — he took the whole week off work to stay with me.”

Alyssa had an infection at 35 weeks and physicians informed her that she would have to induce delivery immediately. Her mother, best friend, and Max were all in the hospital with her.

Max remained at her side throughout the ordeal, proving to be a rock. She went on to say, “I was a little bit nervous because I was by myself, and I was also worried that — okay, yes I want him as a support person, but what if we end up breaking up in a week’s time?”

Surprisingly, Max welcomed the position of father figure to the youngster. Max stood at Alyssa’s side throughout the whole process, even while Ollie was in the NICU for a few days following his preterm delivery. Because of his persistent attendance, hospital personnel mistook him for the father and permitted him to stay in the maternity unit. “He didn’t protest when they did call him Dad,” Alyssa recounted, adding, “He just went along with it.”

His desire to be addressed as ‘Dad’ in the hospital demonstrated how dedicated he was to Alyssa and her kid. Max even took a week off work after Alyssa was discharged from the hospital to assist care for the newborn baby. He assisted Alyssa in adjusting to motherhood by staying at her side!

The pair is now engaged to be married! On top of that, the couple has welcomed a new member of their family, a young daughter called Autumn.

The family now uses TikTok to share their life and stories with others. “The nurses called it, he’s definitely the dad,” one reader said of the article. “Can we share Max?” This is just adorable!
