Korben White, 16, wowed the internet with the billowing ballgown he wore to his high school prom, posing in a blazing red skirt and a sequin-speckled tuxedo top that exactly matched his crimson hair.
After a popular photo by his mother, Nina Green, that shows her teenager son prepped and primped for prom, some fans of the woke movement applauded his flowing dress, while others played the blame game, claiming it illustrates a parent’s “failure” “in encouraging this sort of thing.”
When Korben White was 12, he informed his mother, Nina Green, that “he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown.”

The adolescent, a “sassy” teenage drag queen known as Miss Frou Frou, made it happen in 2022, barely four years after declaring his plan.
Green speaks with the BBC about her son’s influence. “He wanted to go as himself, while expressing his feminine side-with a tuxedo on the top and a dress at the bottom, very much influenced by [American actor] Billy Porter.” She said, “He wanted to be Korben, but in a dress.”
When Korben got out of the car in the dazzling red dress, along with a white blouse and a gigantic red bow, both staff and students at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston, Norfolk, celebrated his big reveal.
“As soon as he got out of the car, everyone just cheered and I was crying, some of the teachers were crying, because he was being who he wanted to be,” the delighted mother said of Korben. “Everyone has been quite helpful, and his year group has been fantastic. If you allow your child to be themselves, you will only receive the best from them.”
Green, her son’s strongest supporter, maintained her tremendous display of solidarity with a tweet on July 1.

Green adds, alongside a few images of Korben in the amazing attire, “At age 12, my son stated he wanted to attend his school prom in a gown. Four years later, we made it happen. I am very proud of him for being true to himself, and the response he received from his entire school was fantastic.”
Her post acquired a lot of traction, with millions of individuals across the world sharing, commenting, and appreciating the attractive young man.
Michelle Visage, a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, commented, “You are an amazing beautiful mom and your child is a STAR.”
Korben described it as “very surreal” that his mother’s post drew the attention of Visage.
“To me she is such an icon, a wonderful celebrity and I really admire her,” he went on to say.
Green didn’t anticipate her display of support to “go crazy,” and she simply wanted to show her kid “living his best life,” which prompted other parents to seek her assistance.

Some individuals sent photographs and anecdotes of their own gender-bending children.
One adds, “I’m worried about my son; he’d want to do something like this at prom, but he wouldn’t have the support of the entire class! It’s very awful that homophobia still exists today. Congratulations to you, your son, and his school!”
A second says, “I am very thrilled for your son; he looked fantastic!!!My son is trans, and after three years of transphobic abuse in January before GCSEs [General Certificate of Secondary Education, which is provided in some regions of the UK], I had to withdraw him from school for his mental health. He was always going to prom in a tux, and he was denied the opportunity.”
A third simply states, “Absolutely stunning!” My kid donned a suit to her event!”
Meanwhile, the optimism was met by a slew of additional remarks, serving as a reminder that not everyone follows the same social path.
One says, “There is very little hope for civilization,” while another notes, “Vile, Woke, and a failure as a parent in encouraging this sort of thing.” A 12-year-old youngster should be playing football and developing into a man. Unfortunately, individuals these days virtue signal, like you are doing with your tweet, and destroy their children for life. Shame.”
Another netizen finds the support for Green’s post disturbing. “There is absolutely nothing natural about a ‘boy’ dressing like a ‘girl’-the support shows just how screwed up our world is.” And one internet enthusiast goes so far as to argue that the world lacks logic, saying, “We live in a society where children should no longer pretend to be Indians and men should pretend to be ladies. Utopian.”
Nonetheless, Green, a devoted supporter, refused to succumb to the internet hatred.
The day following the viral post, Green attended London Pride with her kid and tweeted a nice selfie of the two.
A fan on social media said, “My boy did too, couldn’t be prouder, he’s also at London Pride today aged 16 it’s fabulous love and to you and yours,” then a second shared, “you both look amazing xx”
A third criticizes the mother, stating, “Your son doesn’t look like a man anymore, some kind of fa****”
Green, who says she ignores the negative comments on Twitter, hopes that the bond she has with Korben would motivate other children and parents.
“I really hope it will help others be more accepting, let proud parents feel they are not alone, and that they can celebrate their children, and for young people to know there is a network there if they need it.” She went on, “You need to accept your children for who they are.”
Korben Green is a brave young guy for expressing himself this way! And he’s really blessed to have such a supportive mother who blocks out the noise and continues to parent him in the best manner she knows how.
