She was getting ready to cry.
It’s hard to decide what to do as a wedding day treat for your future spouse. This might be one of the most important days of your lives. How do you make a gift that goes with the occasion?
One Brazilian groom thought of the perfect wedding gift for his bride.
Today is a big day for Cntia Bonfante Pereira and José Vitor Flach, the man she will marry.
Before they got married, they had been together for at least three years. There were both family and friends at the wedding, which was held in a church.
But the bride didn’t know that there would be a few more people there.
Cntia helps kids with Down syndrome learn to talk by helping them with their speech.
Many kids’ lives have gotten better because of what she does.
In fact, she is very close with the kids.
They are mostly her children. And everyone knows that a caring adult can make a big difference in a child’s life.
I’m sure we’ve all had teachers who were kind and worked hard and changed our lives.
People with Down syndrome do find it hard to talk and communicate with others.
And when kids are in preschool and elementary school, they will talk and listen a lot.
It’s hard to overstate how important Cntia’s job is for these kids.
The only person who knew this as well as her groom did was her groom.
So he thought of something that would make his bride cry as a surprise.
When it was time to say vows and put on the rings, José’s surprise started to fall apart.
Still standing next to her groom, the bride didn’t know what was on the other side of the hall.
She started crying as soon as she saw who was going to bring the rings.
People often cry on the day of their wedding. So it’s a pretty big deal that something made the bride cry even more.
Her speech therapy students carried the rings down the aisle.
All of the kids with Down syndrome who spent time with her are also here for her big day.
All of the kids looked great, too. Even a toy car was used by a couple to follow the group. I don’t think that could be the wedding car, though.
The rings were in their care. All seven of them.
How could they show that they love Cntia any other way?
I’d be lying if I said that seeing this wasn’t nice. Cntia cares a lot about making sure all kids, no matter what they were born with, feel like they fit and are respected. José has done this by inviting them to her wedding, where everyone can see them.
